Choral Speaking
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH
for being so supportive and those who missed their tuition, rearranged their schedules, gave up their holidays, gave up their beauty sleep (although you all still look beautiful anyway) and also their energy and hyperness, it was really really great. I'm so glad everyone was happy about Choral Speaking from the beginning all the way until we lost. I'm sure we had lots of fun and if you didn't have fun, thanks for pretending to. :) Valerie ---> conductress ---> arm pain, THANK YOU. And those funny little people who kept giving us ideas for the script, Thank Yooooo! And Sheau Swan, for making us all meditate... And Nurin, for screwing up meditation and making us all laugh xD And and.. Lakshmi for showing us all of our facial expressions, and Pn Elizabeth, even though her mum was in the ER! Oh and some other people I have to thank: Those little people who live in our voice boxes, who oil and wax them like engines. None of us lost our voices for the competition! :) If you did, then I hope you sacked those people and hired new ones. or changed your fuel type from fizzy drinks to water. ANYWAY. Now I've forgotten what I was going to type. It's ok. BYE!

Hello! My first post (I think)
Quacking Cows
Look! Look out the window!
On a quiet, misty day.
The mountains in the distance
Seem near, yet far away.
There may be someone out there,
Beyond the cloudy caps,
With no one there to love and care,
With only a cow that quacks.
Sit down and have some cocoa,
Or instead a spot of tea,
Be warm and dry and calm inside,
Sit down and imagine with me.
One yucca tree with leaves of green,
One hut of sandy mud,
One island in the middle of the sea,
One outcast with a painful heart-tug.
“I’m lonely!” shouts the special man.
“I’m sad!” his bright eyes plead.
“I’ve only got a hut, a tree,
And a quacking cow!” he shrieks.
He longs for happy moments,
With friends and family near,
For joyful days and rainbow rays,
To share among his peers.
Let’s look back on his previous life,
Not too long ago,
In a little town called Bangalite,
In the land of Bungalow.
His nicest friend in Bangalite,
In the land of Bungalow,
Was Cinderella who could sing acapella,
And was beautiful from head to toe.
A mile away from his Bungalow house,
Was a boy about the size of a mouse.
This boy, it seems, was born to a queen,
And this prince was teased for his size as a teen.
The relationship between the three,
Was a very strange thing indeed.
Full of twists and loop-de-loops,
And a laugh or two. (Or three!)
The prince, a short and stout little thing,
Was a snivelly, helpless soon-to-be king.
He got what he wanted, did not even ask,
So much as an utter would complete the task.
It was not his fault he was conceived in a womb,
That ensured in his mouth was a silver spoon.
As for Cinderella, we know,
She was left to her stepmother, oh dear! Oh no!
She cooked and cleaned and mopped and scrubbed,
Her childhood went by without any love.
She blossomed and bloomed,
To her stepsisters’ gloom,
Who, over the prince, the two of them swooned.
“He’s so handsome!” one of them cried.
“He’s so manly!” the other replied.
“Girls, you must look your best! Don’t you drool!
When you go to the prince’s ball in June!”
But all she wants is the power and wealth,
She doesn’t care for her twins’ mental health.
Cindy’s best friend, our hero today,
Baked cakes for a living to earn measly pay.
His life was ordinary, none out of the blue,
Except that—I LOVE CINDERELLA! GAGA GOOGOO!
As we all know, Cindy wanted to go,
To the “handsome” prince’s ball in June.
How was she to know of the baker’s swift blow,
From Cupid’s magic harpoon?
Moving on!
Fairy godmother arrives,
Cindy’s gown is made nice,
Pumpkin chariot, horce-mice,
She’s there in a trice.
She dances with the prince,
Though he has two left feet,
Then runs from the ball,
Dropping her slipper as she leaps.
Oh, what do I do? What do I do?
My dear Cinderella has left me her shoe!
I hope he forgets I was ever there,
He’s no real man! Cindy says in despair.
She rides home, she’s shaken,
Stepmother was clearly mistaken,
When she said that the prince,
Was the man for her twins.
I’ll find you my dear! I most certainly will!
Please God, have mercy! I’m way too young still!
Cindy is worried, the prince is on his way!
He’ll find her and wed her in less than a day!
I’ll save you, dear Cindy! I’ll save you from this!
Says her best friend, the baker, with a flick of his wrist.
Wait a minute what’s that? It looks quite familiar.
It’s Fairy Godmother’s wand! You stole it, didn’tcha!
Yes, I mean no. I mean ALAKAZOOM!
There materializes a cow in the middle of the room.
“Quack quack!” it says, and steps back, confused.
“Quack quack!” it tries, but still it can’t moo.
Alright, I wanted a horse, you know, with hooves.
But I guess a quacking cow will do.
The baker hops on and Cindy does, too.
And the cow runs frantically, trying to moo.
What a scene it was,
What a comical show,
When suddenly—BANG!
The prince bumps into them both!
WHATCH WHERE YOU’RE GOING YOU—Cindy my dear!
Cinderella turns white, her sanity veers.
The prince says “Guards! Get rid of this man!
He’s kidnapped my Cindy, banish him from this land!”
Ultimately that’s how we’ve ended up now,
With the baker on an island with a quacking cow.
The story’s not done, though, he remembers a saying,
“Where there’s a will there IS a way!”
He sits by the cow, he readies himself.
He’s about to do something done by nobody else.
3, 2, 1 GO! He leaps onto the cow,
And starts squeezing it so hard it can’t contain it’s bowels!
BLOOOOOORP! FIUUUUUU! Away they go!
The baker is delighted, the cow not very much so.
They stay in the air for a few hours or so,
Until they reach the town of Bungalow.
The baker storms the castle with some help from the cow,
Knocking out guards with their methane gas so foul.
A hundred guards later, they reach the royal court,
Where the prince and Cinderella are to be wed by Friar Mort.
Is everyone in favor? Speak now or hold your peace!
A pause. The floor is silent.
Alright—YOU WANT TO GET TO HER? YOU HAVE TO GET THROUGH ME!
The baker bursts into the court and glances at Cinderella.
Her face is drenched with sweat and tears,
She looks like a bird with wayward feathers.
The prince is furious, he’s fit to burst,
From holding in all the pain and the hurt.
He resented his fate, the teasing and the hate,
He shouted at the baker, YOU’RE TOO LATE!
He proceeded to vigorously shake and vibrate,
Until he exploded, with a SPLAT on each face.
The baker confessed his love to dear Cindy,
And they were wed instead of poor princey.
This story, it shows no matter how far we fall,
True love, in the end, will conquer all.
So if you wish to have as much fun as them,
Show the world some love and just maybe, then
We’ll have no more stepmothers, no princeys as well,
And life on this earth could be pretty swell.
Thank you.

-car wash -NOOOOOOOO WAY MAN Can you imagine us washing cars?
-fundraising -Fundraising as in why not tell everyone to split into groups of 3 and raise like uh.. 75 ringgit
(RM1125) If they manage to raise more than 100 ringgit, They get to choose their beds in the dorm
first. ^^ or some kinda ganjaran lah. like. Free folio binding. or a book.
-class fund -Collecting more money is.. Just like making them pay more. Only, it's a softer blow. I'm up for it though :P
My suggestions:
We should have a blog or website on this fundraising thing, just to keep people updated on etc. :D maybe.. www.3a1.blogspot.com or www.3a1-rocksorstones?.blogspot.com YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE A GREAT IDEA. About the website, forget totally about this bentnung thingy la. Why not have a website khas for A1 :D Then people just log on and see wtv we need to hand in, wtv you want us to bring etc. etc. :D
-Do the Shu Jing thing (sweets) (around RM100)
-:D Sell hand made cards (around 2 ringgit each, maybe we'll sell.. 50? so RM100)
-DARE THE TEACHERS LMAO I know I know.. We dare each of the teachers like "TEACHER GIVE US 50 SEN FOR EACH TIME WE GET ALL ANSWERS CORRECT!!" So by the end of the year, we'll have.. 26 ringgit for each time the whole class gets everything right :D
-Do folio printing and charge 10 ringgit per folio. If they ask for binding, make it 15.
-Ask the teachers if we can do any oddjobs for them, like typing etc. For a small fee of 5 ringgit. hehehe
-Sell my neopets account to jo-ann ^^
-Host a party and have admission fee at RM5/10
-Indepent donations from various kind samaritans get published on the blog and they receive a small pouch or something :)
-Sell school survival kits - a bit like prefect pouches, just this school kit for GA checks and notepaper and pen. Also, some tissue paper :D (RM 12/15)
-Do photocopying for people during recess (take turns) -RM0.50 per person. That's.. considering 1 person a day does it: 0.50 x 150 (75 ringgit)
-Sell paper mache masks (hehe) at RM10 each (around rm50)
The grand total....: RM531 (lol I left out the stupid things like the party and selling my neopets acc. :D
SO ANYWAY. THE END.

Is there any options except for bentung? i was wondering wat will we have in bentung...is it camping?
I think raise fund is a good idea to subsidize the fees. But anyway, if we manage to reach the target rm 1000, we'll still have to pay fees?
Hopefully this trip can work out & we can enjoy after pmr... omg.. really looking forward to it...
thanks for the planning...=p
The introduction of the trip
Shu Han, Nicola, Elisa and I have been planning a trip for ALL A1 students after pmr. (if there's space, ex-A1s can come too!) we are going to Bentung, pahang. however, its might be expensive. we estimate around 300+ per person. i really really want this trip to work out, and so, i've been thinking of ways to subsidize the camp fees (make it cheaper for everyone).
#1. CLASS FUND! so, can we collect rm3 instead of rm2 a month? =D
#2. We raise funds. i dunno, sell stuff/carwash/whatever. XD but yeah. i think we can get quite a lot of cash from that. i target abt rm 1000.
so, IF we use the class funds,
a) 46 x rm2 x 10 months = rm920
OR
b) 46 x rm3 x 10 months = rm1380
with (a) we can subsidize about rm 20 per person.
(b) = rm 30
if we do raise funds, and get more than rm 1000, we can easily subsidize another rm 25 per person.
altogether, say, rm 55? =) so if camp fees are rm320, you only pay rm265
so, i hope we'll all work together to make this work. =P after all, we wanna enjoy our days AFTER pmr. =D
thats it.
THANKS A LOT FOR READING such a long email! =)
i'd really love feedback (meaning what you think) so please, feel free to reply can tell me your opinions or let me know if you dont understand anything. =) thanks again.
